Over the past few months, I have been inspired to start a blog! So here it is! Just to catch up on my journey to Salvation Army Officership - Sheldon and I moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba last September to begin our training! We have been stretched in every area of our lives, as God continues to mold us and shape us into the people that he wants us to be. After two semesters, and three intercession courses we are now on our summer assignments. We were appointed to Trinity Bay South, Newfoundland! Although we have learned much in the classroom setting, it is great to finally be out and "doing!"
Our first two weeks in TBS were spent with Majors Maurice and Marilyn Blackler (they are now on holidays for 5 weeks!), we both have enjoyed having them as our training officers. They have been honest about ministry, in telling us both the ups and the downs - and also about some of the things that you would never think you would be doing. If I could use training college wording for a mintue "There are many different hats we will have to wear!" They have been very encouraging to the both of us! Making sure that we had all the necessary information to run the church before they left for holidays was a bit mind boggling at times - but we have survived our first week- and God has been good!
