Sunday January 28, 2007

This weekend has been a time for movies! Friday night Sheldon and I watched "Gangs of New York" and "The Black Dahlia" which were rented from "Braye"Buster. Then last night I went to see the new love story "Catch & Release" starring Jennifer Garner - I highly recommend it. It's a great (but different) story line that in some strange way left me feeling like the world isn't a half bad place!! So basically it looks like I have done nothing all weekend...not true...I worked all day Saturday so that I could go out an enjoy a nice evening! I'm actually doing really well with my work schedule and it's looking positive that I won't have to bring anything home with me in February! Yeah!

This week we received another letter from our Sponsor Child Faber from Columbia! It's amazing to see his art work get better and better each time we receive something from him. He has certainly grown a lot since we began sponsoring him! Here are some of the pray requests for Columbia as outline by Compassion Canada:

Pray that students in Colombia will find mentors who will provide a home away from home for students living away from their parents for the first time.

Pray for the thousands of children in poverty who have never dared to dream about the future. Pray their lives will be filled with parents, pastors, teachers and other adults who will encourage them to dream.

Pray for strength, patience and wisdom for the staff of Compassion Colombia as they show the love of Jesus to children who desperately need to know the care of a father.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  • Hi!

That is neat you guys have a sponsor child! I have 2 actually! I have had one for a couple years now - Colette from Mali and when I got my second part time job I decided to get a second sponsor child. His name is Kamil and he is from Ethiopia. Its awesome to get ketters from them and to know that I am making even a small difference in their lives!
