Well today will be another first....It's 10:23 and my turkey has been in the oven for about 45 minutes! Sheldon and I decided to pick up a turkey to cook after Christmas so that we could have extra turkey for sandwhiches etc! Call us greedy - but we love turkey!

I'll check back later to tell you how it went.....

Mmmmm, the smell of turkey...

This building is used for the cafe, the food bank, any offices related to the corps aspect of 614 are found here, as well as any of the social workers or counselors. Also corrections operates from here as well. This building is well known in Regent Park! What do you think of this van??? I think it's pretty awesome - unfortunately it's no longer in service!

Hello again! Many of you have been asking why I haven't updated my blog in such a long time, well the reality is that we didn't have much time while in Toronto to spend on the Internet! We had such a great time at 614! We met so many great people, and God had so many great lessons to teach us. There is so much to talk about - but most are things that I do not feel comfortable writing about on the Internet for the world the read! My stories will come out in conversations with family and friends! One thing I will say is that what people make Regent Park out to be, and what it really is - is quite different!

Major Sandra Ryan gave a group of women time to reflect in prayer just a few days before I left on where we were last Christmas, and where we stand this Christmas. This was a very unique thing for me to do. It's amazing what God brings to mind as you reflect on each month from December to December. My first thought was physically - last Christmas we were in Bermuda with Sheldon's family, this Christmas is being spent with a mishmash of the Holland, Crabb and Bungay household! Spiritually - my mind went to what the body of Christ is, and what the Kingdom of God looks like. I thought of all the people I have met, all the cultures and languages I have been introduced to, and how all of these experiences are joining together and shaping my future. Of course 614 played a large part in these thoughts. I challenge you to do this exercise as well. In your quiet devotional time reflect on this past year - where have you been? Where are you going? It can be a powerful thing.

So what has been happening since we've been back? Christmas Eve we spent the evening with our Cadet family at the Hollands, Christmas Day we opened gifts with the Hollands and Crabbs had breakfast and supper with them! Tonight we will be having our Cadet family over for some games (yes...Ashley is playing games), some fun and fellowship! So we have been keeping busy, and even though we miss being around our biological families we are very thankful to have such loving and caring people surrounding us!

I wonder where we will be next Christmas??????????

Christmas Blessings!

Today we received one of the nicest Christmas gestures I have ever received. After checking my email I checked outside my door to find a plate full of cookies! How awesome is that! To think that two very special ladies (Diane & Niki) would spend time to make cookies not only for the Bungay's but for every Cadet family is such an example of God's love! On top of the plate that is filled with shortbread cookies, snowballs, marsh mellow cookies etc there was a little note that read, "A treat for busy people." I am so thankful to these ladies for providing me with a moment of Christmas Joy...perhaps I will pay it forward!

Tonight I have been doing some Christmas assignment prep. Youth Group and Kids Squad to be exact. It's so hard to plan for children and teens that you don't know! What do they like? Games? Discussion? Being foolish? Serious? Youth group ideas are coming together a little faster than kids squad....but by tomorrow I hope to have them both completed.

Sheldon is out playing hockey...the perfect time to relax, watch a girly movie and eat some popcorn! Enjoy your weekend everyone!
